|Hoping that tomorrow NY will love me a LOT!|
Recently someone asked me if professional running was like Nascar, you compete in a series of races where you continuously gain points, your grand total determining the winner. The answer to that is no – it’s actually quite the opposite, and that’s one of my favorite things about the sport. You have one national championship to prove yourself. One big race to compete for that coveted USA singlet. If you get sick or choke under the pressure, thats just too bad.
Tomorrow I’m going to race some of the best in the country. Although I’m not on the list of elite’s racing, or a target that someone’s looking to beat, I’ll probably be racing for more than anyone out there. Every time I put my foot on the starting line it’s my national championship. I know I can make it in this league, now it’s time to show everyone else. So, thanks to the supporters and the haters – you’ve all encouraged me to run fast!
“Between you and every goal that you wish to achieve, there is a series of obstacles, and the bigger the goal, the bigger the obstacles. Your decision to be, have and do something out of the ordinary entails facing difficulties and challenges that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else.” – Brian Tracy
