Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve written. I know you’ve all been glued to your computer screens continuously hitting refresh on this website, but have no fear – my much anticipated blog is here…
I’m on my way to Trinidad to represent the USA at the NACAC (North America, Central America, & Caribbean) Cross Country Championships! This is my second USA team, amazingly it’s my second in the past month also! I don’t want to jinx myself, but racing has been going really well lately. To be honest, everything has been going well lately. I can’t take all the credit though – the Maximum Mobility crew and Ryan Cole have made it easy on me.
Recently I read Dathan Ritzenhein’s blog in which he stated his frustration being injured and disappointment missing races. I’ve been in his shoes before and it is incredibly hard to watch races and look up results when you’re sitting at home unable to train. Thankfully, I can run right now, but I have a similar feeling of discontent when I look at race results. I want to compete at every invite. I want to race against everyone. I want to prove that I’m better than anyone thinks. I want to see where I stack up against the best.
With 10 days and 2 races left before a break, hopefully I can come up big where it counts. Stay tuned, each race is more important than the last, it’s only going to get more exciting from here!
